I’ve been coming to the YMCA Downtown location for a little over a year now, and I genuinely love this gym. The facility is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the overall environment makes it a great place to train consistently. It’s one of the few gyms where you really feel like part of a community rather than just another membership. One thing I would love to see added, though, is a 100–120 lb heavy boxing bag. For members who enjoy boxing-style workouts or conditioning, having a proper heavy bag would make a huge difference and add another great training option to an already strong facility. That said, I still think this YMCA does an excellent job overall. The equipment variety, atmosphere, and staff make it a place I enjoy coming back to every week. Adding a heavy bag would honestly make this gym close to perfect—and it would definitely make me feel like I never need another gym. I’ll always have the Y.
View on Google ↗Have had great experience at the Downtown YMCA. Staff has been friendly and accommodating. They have all the amenities one could hope for in the downtown area. Steam room/ hot tub would be amazing but I primarily play basketball and weight lift. Plan to check out some of the various classes offered… and the pool! Looking forward to my next visit!
View on Google ↗Kathryn Jensen is an exquisite Pilates Reformer Instructor!! I am a novice and I took Kathryn's class yesterday and she was patient and gave very good instructions. I explained to Kathryn that I have been experiencing some continuous leg pains and walking was not helping as much as I thought or desired. Kathryn's Pilate Reformer Class was a blessing. My pain decreased and I'm looking forward to next week's Pilates class. Kathryn, YOU ROCK!! Thank you. Doris Cooper
View on Google ↗Is a great Y- I assumed it would be tiny because of location, but it is big and has a variety of activities from multiple pools to sports courts, to childcare and of course with huge work out room. Work out room is on basement, but it is well lit and cares for. There are also tables to get some work done in a sunny hall in the back. Great location, will keep coming back. Ps- also nice how walkable it is.. it’s right next to Acacia park- see images. But great to go to y and then take the kiddos on a stroller ride downtown.
View on Google ↗I go several times a week. The staff is friendly. I love the instructors, especially Brian. He's a great yoga instructor. The gym has lots of up to date equipment. I highly recommend it.
