Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

This air and space museum was really fun, but I don't think it's for everyone. At 20 dollars, you really need to have a decent interest in either air or space, otherwise, this museum will bore you. The size of the artifacts can only wow you for so long before everything just looks like a big plane. There are a few outlying artifacts like a life sized pod racer and x wing, but those are few and far between. There are also a few sample weapons that may appeal to you. The museum itself is a good size. At a savoring pace, it may take you between 1-2 hours to get through it. We were a bit on the shorter end of that estimate. Regardless, if you are looking for activities in Denver, I do recommend you come out and try it.

We loved our visit here! My 12 year old had the most fun. The staff were patient and kind with my crew of 5 kids. They answered our questions and we got to watch a couple demonstrations about gravity and hot air balloons. My younger children were slightly bored (4 & 5) but they did had moments they enjoyed too, like the Star Wars ships near the hangar doors. It was easy to navigate and take at our own pace. We used the CityPass for tickets and I highly recommend it if you plan on seeing more than one attraction throughout the city. The flight simulator is an extra charge, but worth it if you can. My 12 & 10 year old loved the experience.

I've wanted to come here for a long time. You could say I'm a military aircraft nut..... okay, enthusiast. If you consider yourself the same, you have to come here. There was so much more than I was expecting. All of the aircraft were amazing! Mostly jet age stuff, including a F-4 Phantom, F-86 Sabre, F-101 Voodoo, F-14 Tomcat, and their new F-16D Thunderbird, as well as a Mig-23, and probably most impressive of all, a B-1 Lancer! Not to mention the gigantic B-52 out front! Beyond just aircraft, there are tons of amazing displays, simulators, and a great gift shop. If you're in Colorado and love airplanes, this place has to be on your list! I'd even go so far to say it's nearly on par with the Air Force museum at Wright Patterson in Dayton, Ohio, and that's an amazing museum.

there was a very wide selection of planes there to see! the simulated seemed fun, even though i didn’t go in. there were some videos playing that gave history on planes the planes there (i watched the one abt the B-1 Lancer, funny and informative. i will say it was cool that you thatched the video inside the bomb bay). i thought it was really funny that the x-wing was there, and there was a little plaque for Anakin’s racer ship but it wasn’t there :( there was a great restaurant next by called beer garden (i think). next hanger has a huge storage unit with some businesses built in gift shop is a little pricey, but with a wide range of things

Wow what an awesome museum! We have lived in Denver for years and had heard about this place but never thought of going. We attended a Valentine's Evening concert and found ourselves walking around like kids in a candy store. The aircraft are amazing, the staff is kind and knowledgeable. And there are some fun restaurants next door so you can make a real date out of visiting the museum. Love it!
