I have been a member at TinkerMill for a month or two now and have been super impressed. So far I have taken welding classes with Ron, a 3d printing class with Steve, and blacksmithing classes with Tyler and Jason. I enjoyed all of them and learned a lot. This is such an undervalued resource and such a great idea. People who come to the classes and especially the people generously volunteering their time to teach the classes genuinely seem happy to be there. Very impressed so far and plan on taking many more classes!
View on Google ↗I had a great experience here forging a knife from a railroad spike with Tyler. It was a solid 4 hours of working over the anvil and grinder. We also got a lesson on safety beforehand. Pizza and drink was included. Tyler was patient and knew exactly how much to be involved and how much to be hands off. If you like working with your hands, this is a worthwhile experience. The space is really cool, too, with lots of other thinfs to do like ceramics, molding, stained glass, metal work, etc.
View on Google ↗I took an introduction stained glass class with Molly and loved it. The class was a group of four - really the perfect size. Not only did Molly teach us how to create the project right in front of us, but she taught us how to do other projects as well, where supplies are kept, and how to create them if she weren't around. It was incredibly helpful but not too long winded. Molly is an engaging and thorough teacher. I highly recommend her stained glass class.
View on Google ↗Absolutely love this place and the amazing people who work and volunteer there. Please support these guys. It's worth the value they bring into our town! My future projects include a working lego lunar rover and a cold jet pack to avoid the traffic driving to TinkerMill 💫
View on Google ↗This makerspace is amazing. Whether you want to try printmaking, jewelry making, woodworking, stained glass, or countless other crafts, the variety here is incredible. There's always something new to learn and explore. But honestly, the best part is the community. In a time when real "third places" are hard to find, this space brings people together in such a meaningful way. The fellow makers, mentors, and friends you meet here create something special and welcoming. It's not just about the projects, it's about the connections and sense of belonging. If you're looking for a place to learn, create, and find your people, this makerspace is it.
