my experience, I would not recommend Stuntz Academy. I enrolled my daughter in tumbling classes in May 2025. The classes were overcrowded, lacked enough coaches, and the instructors were inconsistent. At one point, a male coach and the owner got into a heated argument in front of the children. Many classes felt disorganized, with several students distracted instead of learning. Looking back, I should have switched gyms sooner, but I stayed because it was conveniently close to home. I enrolled my daughter in elite cheer. I was originally quoted one season price, but additional fees kept appearing throughout the year after I had already signed the contract. My tuition changed repeatedly, and after speaking with other parents, we realized we were all paying different amounts. Near the end of the season, my parent portal showed that I owed more than $900. A staff member reviewed the handwritten receipt book with me and found that I had actually paid several hundred dollars more than what the portal reflected. While mistakes happen, I still had to argue with the owner about the discrepancy before we finally reached an agreement on a payment plan. The following month, after making my agreed payment, I was unexpectedly told I owed another $100 in competition fees just days before the final competition. The competition costs also seemed excessive. We paid around $900 for three in-state competitions. My daughter is now at another gym for the 2026-2027 season, and their fees are approximately $1,050 for eight in-state competitions plus one out-of-state competition. Another major issue involved tumbling. Part of our tuition covered cheer and part covered tumbling, yet the gym stopped working on tumbling skills around August 2025 and did not resume until April 2026. Several parents, including myself, questioned why we were still paying for tumbling while our children received no tumbling time. The showcases were also disappointing because much of the audience could barely see the performance through a small viewing window. The gym also seemed inconsistent with enforcing team rules. The contract stated athletes could be removed from the team or benched from a competition for missing so many practices, yet attendance rules were never enforced. Because of this, the team struggled to fully learn routines until the very end of the season. The owner frequently celebrates the jackets and medals the team earned, but all the competitions had no competition, of course they placed first. The girls worked hard and did their best with the coaching they received, but I personally felt the program lacked structure and consistency. I also had to speak with coaches multiple times about unsafe basing positions during stunts because I was concerned for the flyers’ safety. At the end of the season, there was no organized celebration funded by the gym despite all the tuition paid throughout the year. Parents ended up putting together a last-minute potluck-style party themselves. I was also concerned that children who did not meet age requirements were placed on an elite team to fill spots, which could potentially risk disqualification for the entire team. Most disappointing of all, I paid for tumbling from May 2025 through May 2026, yet my daughter did not learn basic skills like a running cartwheel or back walkover there. After switching gyms, she learned her running cartwheel, round off, and back walkover within just four practices.

Our national champion Acro program has relocated. I had a "beginning" Acro student, that is now an "advanced" gymnastics student. Go figure that. She's 8 years old and has never touched a piece of apparatus. No more to be said on this issue. I would recommend you check safety procedures, and heat temperature control in the afternoon. This is not a priority. I actually witnessed a 7-year-old child dictate mats underneath the bar during an open gym. Unsafe yet with Vonnie's knowledge. Again not a priority. Thank you for finally refunding our program parents' money. Another thing to check. Dot your i's, cross your t's. We're moving on to a great season. I don't need your gym to produce national champions. That comes from coaching. And this year you cannot steal our title because we are not there anymore. We are supposed to be mentors. We are supposed to show this community how it is done. We are role models. We are supposed to put the kids first. You suck at all the above. Vonnie you were my friend. I trusted you. I do not recommend this gym.

My granddaughters go there and I go watch them every Friday night and they have improved every week. This place is great!! The owner Vonnie is so good with the kids and the instructors are so good with their teaching skills! I would recommend this place to beginners as my granddaughters have enjoyed it so much and so have I!

We have been with Stuntz for years now and my kids absolutely love it! My daughter has grown so much as a cheerleader and she absolutely enjoys her time there. My youngest son started with just tumble, but joined the Tiny team this year and loves it! They are so fun to watch! If you are looking for a great way to keep your kids in shape and busy, Stuntz is the place to take your kids. Not only does Stuntz offer tumbling and cheer, but also they have their poms/dance teams! There is something for just about everyone. We have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy being part of the Stuntz family.

Vonnie and all the coaches here are amazing. My daughter has learned so much in such a short time. We've been to many gyms in San Diego and since moving to Colorado we are much happier with the quality of Stunts than any we went to there.
