Rocky Mtn Splash

Rocky Mountain Splash is an excellent artistic swimming club. I highly recommend this club. I’ve been involved in this sport for over 50 years and have coached at several different clubs across the country. I coached with RMS from 2001-2006 and still see this club in action at different competitions over the years. RMS is one of the best clubs in the country. Originally RMS was coached by Shari Darst, who is still involved with the club. Her daughter Teagan Betancourt is the current head coach. Teagan is an excellent head coach and gives her all to this club. RMS is very involved with the national federation and keeps up to date on all the latest rules and coaching trends. Teagan is a certified World Aquatics DTC (Difficulty Technical Controller) and Shari is the recently retired Education Director at USA Artistic Swimming. Because of this, RMS is always receiving the latest information on the sport. I could not recommend this club more highly. My daughter started with Splash 2 years ago and has learned an amazing amount in such a short time!!! Her growth in two years, thanks to Coach Carol and Teagan, is incredible! All of Splash’s coaches are extremely dedicated to the team. Additionally, my daughter has met new friends that she will have for a lifetime! I can’t say enough about what a great program Splash is!

Rocky Mountain Splash is the premier artistic swimming program around for good reason. The Head Coach, Teagan, does an incredible job and leads the organization with a knowledge and expertise that is surpassed only by her passion and energy. She took over a program that had nearly been mismanaged out of existence by the incompetence of the previous head coach and now, just a few years later, the team is thriving better than ever. The kids are not only getting far superior training and coaching, but even more importantly, actually having fun and enjoying themselves. A truly fantastic program where the kids gain confidence, skills, and camaraderie. Its everything you look for in a youth sports organization

We’ve been part of this team for several years, and it has been such a positive experience for our family. My child absolutely loves the sport and is always excited to go to practice. The coaches are incredibly dedicated and truly care about the athletes and their growth. It’s been wonderful to watch the girls build strong friendships, learn new skills, and gain confidence that carries over into all areas of their lives. Teagan, the head coach, pours her heart into this team and has done an amazing job steadily improving and moving the program forward since she stepped in a few years ago. This team provides kids with a strong sense of community and also offers exciting opportunities to travel around the country and represent our state. We are so grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring program.

Please do not be fooled by these ratings. The club has been completely run over since 2023 they lost their lesson program and is desperately looking for coaches because the parent board fired multiple high level coaches to save money to pay their current head coach who has been fired from multiple organizations around the country including USA Artsitic Swimming. This club only cares about number and your child will be just 1 of many they will sweep under the rug once they deem them not fit. If you are interested in Artistic Swimming I highly recommend going another club. If you want more you will need to go out of state. Colorado does NOT rank well in this sport. Sheila McNabb has not been involved with the club since 2005 and has zero idea how the club is run now. The club may have ranked 5 stars in her era, however it is not the same years after she left the club. If you are looking into Artistic Swimming please do not get swept up with Rocky Mountain Splash and their lies. They are desperately looking for coaches right now because they fired almost everyone in 2023 . They treat their coaches like trash and their athletes suffer because of it. This club is completely disorganized and ran by the daughter of the woman who started the team, Teagan (the daughter) who currently runs the team has been fired from multiple organizations under USA Artistic Swimming including USA Artistic swimming for being unprofessional, not following safesport protocol and texting her athletes privately, along with other misconduct at the pool. She has unfortunately been able to come back and take over because of loose policies within the organization of USA Artsitic Swimming and also Rocky Mountain Splash itself. They are not a lesson program and do not have the ability to teach your child to swim properly. They are a program that wants to create great artistic swimmers for the glory of the Darst (Sharron Darst started the club) name. Please look up other clubs if you would like to get your child into Artistic swimming or wants to just learn how to swim.
