Pikes Peak Library District

Wow! This library is great! Not only do they have a Makers Space and a studio, the also have a game room, editing bay, and a massive collection of the most compelling and interesting art. If you haven't been to the library lately, START HERE! 😁🥳💯

Normally, this library would get five stars easily. But there is a group of ladies that play Mahjong upstairs a few times a week, and they are LOUD. I would not make that much noise in a public place unless it was at a bar with my friends or something. They just laugh and scream for hours, and I am shocked that the staff doesn’t do anything! I spend a lot of time there and it’s a sort of safe/happy place for me, as many libraries are for many people. But I have had to start avoiding the library on the days that these women are there because it’s just so disruptive.

We go to the library often, mostly East and 21c. They're both great. 21c has a lot of rooms that can be reserved for small and larger gatherings. We've used them several times for events and meetings, or the smaller rooms for studying and practicing speeches. The library's book club collections, ability to place a hold and pick-up books at the library of your choosing, and get digital content make it so easy to take advantage of the entire library system's offerings. They also have great activities, with kids reading programs, book clubs, teen events, adult reading programs, author talks, etc. All free!

Large, beautiful, the creation area is amazing, the designated areas for kids are age appropriate and welcoming, and we happen to be there on free comic book day. The young kids section is usually full of kids with at least one with an active cough, but otherwise no disconcerting smells; overall very clean (just wish parents knew when to keep their kids home). The view is the best in town, I would say. Could use more high back, comfortable chairs. With my chronic pain, I can rarely sit and read at a library anymore. Love the outdoor area, just wish it was bigger.

Very nice and large place. They offer lots of activities as well. Online library services, aka Libby, are for those of us that can't access the library directly or books are not available, you can access through Libby. The staff is very accommodating and super helpful and pleasant!
