Music Together of Boulder

I have felt really glad I signed up for this class 3 months ago. I tend to prefer unstructured time with my son (now 22 months), but this class has added value that I wouldn't have provided. I noticed him start growing musically almost right away. Laura gave me some reading material about musical development in children. Apparently, when provided with musical stimulation, children typically have a recognizable musical developmental progression (until they can audiate music / sing it and move with rhythm), much as you might expect children to roll over, crawl, and then walk by certain ages. I was shocked when my son started singing the entire ABCs song this week on pitch. Based on what I learned, I understand this reflects more his musical exposure than his innate ability. Because the class is parent participation, I feel I have also been receiving a musical education and have felt more competent myself with singing. I am glad that what I've been parroting my whole life ("I'm not musical") is untrue insofar as my son never has to say that, simply from being around a variety of music at a young age. This class provides a good variety of musical types, and the materials for home help us practice the music all week long. Posted under my husband's account.

We've been doing music together for 14 months and my little one loves it. I'm really impressed with the philosophy and how the different activities literally shape young minds at different stages (she was 4 months when we started). It's amazing to see her pick up an instrument or start bopping to a beat anywhere! We're even trying to get Music Together into our preschool so she can continue to learn and grow from it!

We LOVE Music Together! Ms. Laura is an absolute gem! My now 4-year-old son has been attending since he was a baby and still loves going with his 1-year-old little sister! My 1-year-old is regularly singing and dancing from our classes. So much fun and great for their growth and development.

We started music together when my daughter was 6 months in outdoor classes that we continued throughout the fall and winter. We plan on doing the program for years with her and our future children because it’s so much fun! Our now 16 month old enjoys playing with different instruments, dancing to the music, and gets very excited when she recognizes songs. Miss Betsy is so engaging and really works with the parents and nannies to model how to sing and play with instruments to our children. What has been an extra bonus from starting this program is that I have made a few close Mom friends during such an isolating time during the pandemic and all of our children are about the same age. We love Music Together and are so glad the program was recommended to us! We look forward to our musical fun every week!

Both our kids have done Music Together with Laura, and it is a hugely engaging and enriching experience. Laura is a gifted teacher with a gorgeous voice and infinite warmth and patience. We’d definitely recommend her classes!
