Gilpin County Parks & Recreation operates out of the Gilpin County Community Center and offers recreation programs, facilities, and activities for residents of the mountain community.
Free out-of-school drop-in space for youth 12 through high school grad. Use the gym, pool, kitchen, and game consoles; activities and field trips are planned by the youth leadership team. Van rides from Gilpin Secondary.

Licensed K-6 childcare with gym games, crafts, and swimming. Grant-funded educational lessons are woven in: Positive Action for K-2 and Botvin LifeSkills for grades 3-6, one short lesson per week.

The staff is friendly, the pool is great, and the track is well maintained. I see people on the gym equipment and free weights room, but I don't partake.

View on Google ↗Lovely pools. The kids pool is heated and has great depth variation. They also are wonderful about turning on or off the buckets if a kid does not like them(they do that when they're the only group there) which has been great with the little ones. There's lanes and a diving board in the deep end. And a great pile of toys, which is great for older kids too.
