This beautifully restored, landmark fire station in downtown Longmont has been run by the nonprofit, The Arts Studio, since 1987 with a major renovation to the building in 1999. Programs include twelve art exhibits annually plus two resident artist studios, a ceramics studio, and a classroom. Admission to the galleries is always free and The Arts Studio provides extensive outreach to the community plus a regular program of classes for children and adults. Exhibitions mix solo and group shows including local, regional, and national artists. I've been visiting the Center for many years. I've found the exhibits to be of mixed quality, but that's inevitable given the mission of the organization. Today's visit involved some sort of used clothing sale which was a little confusing and made it difficult to see the current art exhibit. The Art Center is a great community resource and a terrific asset to Longmont.

Great place Great art Great director The Firehouse Art Center is a breath of French air in Longmont. It is super well located, a block away from Main Street , so after doing what you need to do there you can always enjoy a moment of inspiration in the spot.

Small very vibrant art scene here. Three or more artists on display. Get a guide when you walk in. Lots of events in town through this entity year round. The venue is available for private events, we did one and planning one now with a friend. I think one of the best places in town if you really want a fun vibe. You do it all yourself ( food, etc) and for the value it can’t be beat!
