Dinosaur Journey Museum

Dinosaur Journey Museum – A Roaring Good Time in Fruita, Colorado Stopping at the Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita was a fantastic detour on our road trip from Moab to Denver! We visited with my brother and his family, and my two nephews were absolutely thrilled, every exhibit seemed to spark their curiosity and imagination. The museum brings ancient giants to life with real fossils, interactive displays, and fascinating stories about prehistoric Colorado. Admission was very reasonable at around $9 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children, making it a great family‑friendly stop along I‑70.  If you’re traveling through western Colorado and want a fun, educational break that keeps the whole family engaged especially young dinosaur fans this place is worth adding to your itinerary.

Don't skip this place if you are in the area! It's worth the visit. Highly recommended for families. My boys loved holding real dinosaur bone and poop :) Once in a lifetime experience 😀 You can see some very well preserved dinosaur bones and skulls and learn some cool information.

We took a group of kids and adults to the museum on a Sunday 40 minutes before closing. The staff was very friendly to us, the children had fun and the adults were entertained. Will definitely go again.

it was so fun and super interesting to learn about all the dinosaurs see them and each one had information about them and how they used to live. the tour is self guided with cool dinosaur tracks which i thought was neat. the museum even has a little area you can see where the archaeologists work! although you can only see them actively work certain times of days/week. there is a little gift shop too, i got a replica trilobite fossil for only a couple dollars :)) I had so much fun and will definitely be coming back soon!

We've been multiple times and the displays, interactive displays, and exhibits have been decreasing in quality. It's a good space to kill some time but not a destination. For this visit it felt a bit like they were in transition (the Colorado visitors center is sharing some of the space) but it was a disappointing visit with a quickly bored preschooler.
