Great campus with a strong academic and engineering focus. Colorado School of Mines has a clean, well-kept environment and a nice balance between historic buildings and modern facilities. The geology museum is a highlight, with an impressive collection of minerals and exhibits that are worth seeing even if you’re not a student. The campus layout is easy to walk, and Golden adds a lot to the experience with its small-town feel and mountain views. A solid place to visit, especially if you’re interested in engineering, geology, or earth sciences.

View on Google ↗Professors are usually great, but the administration is really juicing extra out of you for each semester. They charge you fees to be in clubs, but the clubs don't get very much (if any) of that money. They charge $600 for the rec center, but many of the machines are broken for weeks, and it's usually very overcrowded. They charge you $600 in fees to park, and the parking is always full, so you end up parking somewhere else anyways. I even pay them $700 per year to build new buildings that I'm not allowed in without special access (which I don't have). I pay $300 per year for sports teams I don't care about. "Mandatory Fees" don't cover all the fees you'll be required to pay (parking, for instance), tuition gets hiked up by $3,480 compared to what is listed on the CoA website, and, even after all of that, they usually don't provide me with all of the resources required to take the class. TLDR: Professors are good, campus is pretty nice, but they will find ways to make you pay them money that would require a PhD just to come up with.
