Took 4 of my grandkids on Saturday 6/9/26 to the outdoor pool,my grandson who's 7 almost 8 is not comfortable going to men's locker/rest room alone so we went to the women's to use the restroom, I was totally shocked that Sterling Rec.Center allows "men" to now use the "women's restroom". I Understand that the times morals/values aren't the same BUT c'mon this just isn't right ! This was a grown ADULT MAN in his 40s maybe 50s wasn't "near being or looking like a woman yet" if thats what his argument is to be in a "woman's restroom" on a Saturday afternoon the pool near capacity. Seeing this wasnt right ! had this " man" may of been near to looking as if he was a woman I wouldn't of raised an eye brow or had to explain to my 7yr old grandchild why an " ADULT MAN was in the Women's restroom ! " when I went to front desk to ask about there polices, I was told the manager wasnt there & "she " took my # & would have him call me ! It's now Tuesday, & still haven't received a call from the manager, but the attendant did say that Sterling Rec.Center center doesn't discriminate ! So you're basically telling me " you're ok if your mom, daughter, sister, grandmother etc... shares a locker room with an " ADULT MAN " that is clearly no where near to being a transgender woman !!!! I know better, this man was up to NO GOOD! Im telling you this was an"ADULT MALE MAN" clearly dressed as a MALE ! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️ If the attendant would've just taken the time & LISTEN & go CHECK she would've seen this was a MAN posing or claiming to be transgender just to be in the locker room , as we sat in the indoor pool for over an hour after and that MALE still hadn't came out of the women's locker room, so I can only assume of what he was really doing in that restroom/locker room with the other females dressing that are your sisters, mother's ,grandmother's, etc. !!! And the desk attendant wouldn't give any understanding or go check the situation out !

Excellent, clean, friendly, accommodating community recreation center. Large outdoor pool open from around Memorial Day to Labor Day and another large indoor pool. Weight and cardio facilities upstairs are well kept and maintenanced regularly. I have an annual membership and we are blessed to have this type of facility in Sterling. I highly recommend the large water slides and especially the high speed blue slide. Prices are cheaper than most Rec Centers.

The playground is great with playgrounds for all ages and a workout area for the adults. There is also a covered area with tables right next to the playground.

Such a nice clean indoor and outdoor pool and recreation center. Playground with picnic area across the street to enjoy and dry off afterwards. If it rains, they’ll usually let you in to the indoor part of the pool. They did today. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
