Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

Denver Art Museum is considered to be the magnum opus of the state of Colorado for art museums, while there are smaller museums such as the one in Fort Collins, there are not too many opportunities for smaller city museums. The Boulder Art Museum is unique in a way that provides distinction from other art museums in the State. When it comes to the presentation of the museum. It is done in a welcoming way that does not discourage individuals from coming to the museum to enjoy the glories of local art. I am saying this, because people could just pay what they want to enjoy the glories of this museum. Involving the specifics of the exhibit I went to, "Yes &", the seasonal exhibits was actually a great display of multimedia works by some of the most talented artists oriented in the United States and one in England. The art ranged from the specifics of simple creative artworks, to videos, and even works that were meant to psychologically stump the viewers of the works, additionally, I found the specific murals and forms of art they had to be quite interesting, as it showcased the interests of the artists in further detail. Each of whom were described with plaques of information, unlike what some other individuals mentioned regarding the exhibit. While the one exhibit was great, the primary issue was that the such exhibit building, much like the Fort Collins Museum of Art, was small, and, due to the sparse exhibit size, it just proved to be a bit of a burden for me, even as I engrossed myself with the artworks. Overall, while this small museum was good, the museum was still small, which is something that most museums in mid-sized cities have a problem with, if I ever come to Boulder again, I will come here, only for the novelty of the seasonal exhibits.

As a wedding planner, I cannot recommend this venue enough. The staff was incredibly helpful, and Jess in particular went above and beyond to help us take great care of our guests during a large wedding. HK Events can't wait to come back! One of the things I love most about this venue is its versatility you can easily dress it up or down to fit a variety of wedding styles. The separate reception space upstairs from the gallery was perfect, and the exposed brick wall was absolutely everything to my couple. With the ceremony just moments away at Sunrise Amphitheater, the flow of the day felt effortless. It truly was a perfect day, and I look forward to planning here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

An excellent location right by downtown Boulder. On a weekday, pay parking was immediately available. Look for sign that says how you can go online and pay. There is only a $2 entrance fee for the museum. The current exhibit was interesting but not always well explained as to the meanings intended with the pieces. Recommend looking at what is showing in the gallery before you go.

This was my second visit to the museum. Each time I have been impressed with the art. They show 3-4 artists at a time in their small space. Here are some pictures from the current shows. They have a cute gift shop, too. Go visit and support this great museum!

This is a somewhat small museum with an interesting collection of works. It was very affordable and there is a nice little tea shop right next door. I very much enjoyed the fabric art and textiles on the 2nd floor. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to view the world from a different perspective.
