Beaver Creek Children's Ski and Snowboard School

The perfect location for a vacation! Breathing can be slightly difficult, being in that high of elevation. Aside from that, it was a blessing to experience another terrific Hyatt! The service was incredible, the food was amazing and the views were truly like a dream!

I've skied Beaver Creek many times. It has a nice variety of terrain for skiers of all levels. On the most recent visit, I fell getting off the first lift at 9:45 am. I haven't fallen getting off a lift in over 30 years. The reason I fell is there was a large pool of water after getting off of the chair. I didn't see it and wasn't expecting it. I was waterskiing and fell. I strained both knees significantly. The lift operator should have done something about the pool of water, at a minimum marking it as a hazard. This was my first run on my first day in CO and caused me to miss 3 days of skiing. I expected better from Beaver Creek. It's now 3 months later, I have a meniscus tear and need surgery. If it doesn’t heal well, 42 years of skiing will come to an end.

I had an awesome day at Beaver Creek and it truly delivered on everything , terrain, comfort, and overall vibe. I parked at the Bear Lot and took the quick shuttle over to the lifts — super easy and well organized. I spent most of my time around the McCoy area, which was open and in fantastic condition. I was especially happy to discover an entire bowl of green terrain with so much powder. It’s rare to find that kind of wide-open, beginner-friendly bowl skiing with fresh snow. One tip: McCoy does flatten out in sections, so you’ll want to carry some speed coming off the top if you’re chasing powder in the center — otherwise you might get stuck. (Ask me how I know 😅). After playing in the powder and weaving through some tree runs, I headed toward Larkspur Express and Strawberry Express, then made my way over to Grouse Mountain, which was skiing really well. One of my favorite runs was Beaver Creek Expressway it’s incredibly long and fun. Parts of it feel like a scenic catwalk, and other sections transition into more natural, less-groomed snow. That mix keeps things interesting and makes the run feel like a journey. Beaver Creek is truly a groomer’s paradise. There are tons of beautifully maintained runs, including black groomers that are perfect for carving. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skier, there’s something for everyone. I even saw a Bevo kids’ event happening, which added to the family-friendly atmosphere. What really sets Beaver Creek apart is how well they treat you. Escalators take you up to the lifts (such a luxury touch), and the village areas have fireplaces with couches where you can warm up and relax. It feels refined but still welcoming. I was there on a Sunday, and the crowd management was excellent. Lift lines were minimal, the sun was shining, and the entire day just flowed perfectly. Overall, Beaver Creek is a fantastic spot , whether you’re skiing solo or bringing the family. Great terrain, great service, and an overall polished experience. Highly recommend.

Beaver Creek has always struck me as the ski resort that proves luxury and great skiing can absolutely coexist. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the beautiful base village to the easy transition from lodging to lifts. Heated walkways, escalators that spare you an awkward climb in ski boots, and the famous warm chocolate chip cookies at 3:00 p.m. make the entire experience feel unusually gracious. What I appreciate most is that the mountain delivers well beyond the service and scenery. The grooming is excellent, the terrain is varied, and the ski school has a strong reputation with families. Beginners can reach high-elevation learning areas with real mountain views, while stronger skiers still have enough steeper terrain and technical options to stay engaged. Another major advantage is the location near Eagle and Vail. Beaver Creek feels contained and charming without being isolated, and Vail is close when you want a larger mountain or a different mix of terrain. The homes tucked into the surrounding hillsides are gorgeous, and the village has a polished atmosphere that feels sophisticated without being pretentious. Although ski season gets most of the attention, Beaver Creek is also incredibly appealing in the summer. The village, trails, mountain air, and surrounding scenery take on a completely different character once the snow melts. Between the skiing, service, accessibility, and year-round beauty, this remains one of my favorite mountain destinations anywhere in the world. I highly recommend it for families, serious skiers, and anyone who appreciates a mountain experience that feels refined without losing its warmth.
