Great experience! Our pilot Corey was very communicative, entertaining, and knowledgeable about all the sights we flew over. Even got a quick lesson about how helicopters work! 100% recommend this experience and the Arapahoe Flight Club if it’s your first visit to Colorado Springs, or if you’ve lived here for years. Seeing it from the air is a brand new view. Thank you so much for the amazing time!

I recently completed my Instrument Rating, and I have to say, the experience was absolutely incredible. From the start, I was thoroughly prepared, and the training was top-notch. My instructor really took the time to ensure I was ready for the challenges of instrument flying, and it paid off big time. During my check ride, my DPE even commented on how I “made it look easy,” which was such a great affirmation of all the hard work I put in. The real highlight, however, was the mountain flying course with Bill Jones. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking—landing at some of the most famous mountain airports was truly an experience I’ll never forget. One of the most valuable things I learned was the box canyon turn, and practicing it in such stunning surroundings made it all the more memorable. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such a great experience, and I can’t wait to apply everything I’ve learned in my future flying adventures.

I had a very disappointing experience with Arapahoe Flight Club. I booked a discovery flight in early January using their website, selecting the Diamond DA40 on an available date. Shortly after, I was told that date was actually unavailable because the aircraft would be undergoing maintenance. At their suggestion, I rebooked for February 7th. Just minutes ago, I received an email saying my booking was canceled and my card refunded, with no explanation. When I called, I was again told the Diamond DA40 was unavailable due to maintenance. The representative offered to switch me to a Piper aircraft, which I declined. If I had wanted to fly a Piper, I could have done that a month ago. She also offered a helicopter, which I was completely uninterested in. The entire reason I scheduled this discovery flight was because I’m looking for a flight school where I can earn my PPL, not a helicopter ride. If I wanted that, I could have booked it weeks ago. This feels like poor scheduling and communication. Twice now I’ve booked the same aircraft through their system, only to have it canceled because of maintenance, once well in advance, and once at the last minute. I would DEFINITELY not recommend Arapahoe Flight Club based on this experience. I plan to contact another aviation school here in the Springs. While they don’t have the aircraft I originally wanted to fly, every interaction I’ve had with them has been courteous and professional, which unfortunately has not been my experience with Arapahoe Flight Club. I asked to be contacted by the manager/owner Diego in hopes he might be able to help turn this around. We’ll see if he calls… I won’t hold my breath.

Arapahoe Flight Club is the definition of over-promise and under-deliver. We traveled to Colorado and paid membership dues and other fees specifically to rent their DA-42 (N311LH) with an instructor in order to build multi-engine time and complete mountain training while in the area. We planned a 10-day trip and invested a significant amount of time and money to make it happen. Unfortunately, nearly 40% of our scheduled training time was lost due to aircraft issues. During our time there we had to return to the airport multiple times because of mechanical problems including engine RPM irregularities, inoperative right-seat brakes, and oil leaks caused by improperly secured caps. These are issues that should have been caught before dispatching the aircraft. Our instructor, Bill Jones, was also extremely unreliable. He was frequently late for agreed-upon training times and often changed plans at the last minute with little regard for the customer’s schedule or investment. While he talks extensively about his experience and accomplishments, the actual professionalism and organization we experienced did not match those claims. There is also a concerning arrangement involving a “go-to” DPE that Bill recommends. The experience felt highly questionable. The checkride ended within minutes and we were told we would need to pay an additional $750 to continue. Whether intentional or not, the situation felt extremely unprofessional and raises serious concerns about how testing is being conducted. When we attempted to address these issues with the flight club, instead of working toward a resolution our membership was terminated while they kept our money. Emails and phone calls have gone unanswered, and our phone numbers appear to have been blocked. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing given the time and financial investment we made to train there. Buyer beware.
