Apogee Adventures

My son just finished his second trip with Apogee and he had another incredible adventure. I cannot say enough about what an incredible job Apogee does, both putting together amazing groups of kids, and finding and training very special trip leaders. My son's first trip with Apogee was in Maine and his second was in Alaska. Both were special but for different reasons. Even with terrible weather and truly crazy conditions in Alaska, my son came home having had a wonderful time, and as parents, we felt confident the entire time that Apogee was on top of the changing conditions and was not only keeping everyone safe, but figuring out how to have fun in the process. I would recommend anyone who is thinking of sending their child on an Apogee trip to do it. We are already planning our son's third trip.

Apogee Adventures was the best run summer program of all that my 3 children did in their teens. I can not recommend them highly enough for teens who enjoy outdoor adventure. Their trips are thoughtfully and meticulously planned and they hire carefully selected staff from small liberal arts schools. One of my children did multiple summers with Apogee and the experiences truly changed her life - for that I am forever grateful to the Apogee team!

Our daughter has been on two Apogee trips and is gearing up for her third this summer! Each trip has made her stronger--both physically and mentally. I truly believe it has fueled her self confidence and her grit. Plus the programs are so well run--the kids couldn't be in better hands. Fun coupled with challenge, all managed by an amazing team of leaders and organizers. Yay, Apogee!

Our daughter recently attended the Maine Downeast Explorer program and had an incredible experience. Although she was initially apprehensive about backcountry camping and not knowing any other participants, the program leaders did an excellent job of supporting her and us through informative Zoom meetings before the trip. The transition during drop-off was seamless; the warm and knowledgeable counselors immediately integrated the kids in the group with effective icebreakers and activities. When I picked her up after the two-week program, she was beaming. She challenged herself by navigating a new environment, backpacking, and kayaking, and she remains in close contact with the great friends she made from across the country. Thank you for providing such a wonderful opportunity for her to connect with nature and build her confidence. We look forward to our daughter (and her younger siblings) participating in Apogee programs for years to come.

My daughter spent three summers with Apogee Adventures. Each summer she’s returned from her trip, excited, revived, and full of incredible stories about the amazing friends she’s made and places they’ve explored. Apogee challenges kids in the best way possible. The hiking and biking trips, and hands-on wilderness adventure has built everlasting skills in my daughter, boosted her confidence and has shaped her into someone who seeks adventure and can push on through, even when things get difficult. The directors are extremely helpful and supportive, and the staff they choose for these trips are remarkable: well-trained, enthusiastic, and extremely passionate about what they do. I highly recommend Apogee to anyone looking for a meaningful, growth-filled summer experience, where your teens can truly thrive and try something new.
