I loved it here so I came back with my husband! Regina is excellent instructor from Angeltina. The facility is fully equipped from gears to clothing. You don't have to bring anything. They have multiple multiple highly skilled instructors will help you with everything! I finally found out how to set up my board correctly through Regina help. We would come back for mountain biking! I have been recommending this place for my coworkers since they have such a great program for veterans and their family. Give Crested Butte and this place a try! You will never forget!
Our daughter has cerebral palsy, and does not have any fine motor skills. We first took her to the Adaptive Sports Center about 13 years ago, and we return annually for her to snow ski with them.
She uses a bi-ski chair, and they spend the first part of her initial morning padding between her and the chair where needed, and doing any required adjustments. She skiis with an instructor directing her travel, and a volunteer goes also to help. The chair is made to travel on the chair lift and all three load together on the chair lift.
She enjoys a full day of skiing, and all of the staff is helpful in any way that is needed.
We have only been there for their winter adaptive sports, but they also have a summer program with many activities. We can't recommend them enough if you are looking for an adaptive Sports program with various activities.
We went this past Jan 2021 and had an absolute awesome time. Sorry to just getting around to review. My son was able to ski for the first time and the crew went at his speed. Kind of wish it was my speed because I was having to keep up with all the excitement. ASC is an awesome service! They're the best! Thank you for all the memories we had. Andrew still talks about his time there this past ski season.
I can't say enough about ASC and the program they have. It's at the base of the ski resort with an awesome building full of adaptive equipment for skiers. They also have another building in the main town of Crested Butte. We've been there 2x with our daughter who has cerebral palsy. Once in the winter and we just went to a remote snowfed lake in a national forest about 8 miles away from CB. All the instructors we've had are excellent and they have some great gear for the kids to use. It's a ways from anywhere but if you're looking for a great getaway for the family to have an outdoor experience I highly recommend it.
Adaptive sport came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Our daughter had never skiied/ snowboarded before and Adaptive allowed her to have such a fun day and bring new confidence for her. Regina thank you for being so patient and kind. Your staff was wonderful. Thank you for allowing everyone to have access to the great outdoors.
