Academy Stables

January 2021 we started boarding and riding classes and could not be happier. The owner and staff are simply delightful. The grounds are impeccably maintained by Raul, who has been there for over 15 years and treats every horse as if it were his own. The vast pastures are rotated and reseeded with care, allowing all horses more than ample space to roam and graze. The arenas are first class in all regards, and include more than ample space to spread out. We love the indoor arena when the conditions are not favorable. Lessons are run by professionals like Celia with vast experience in teaching from beginner to advanced competitive. The overall vibe at this barn is friendly and professional without the drama we encountered at the last barn we boarded. The kids have developed a high degree of confidence and a healthy work ethic because these positive qualities are reinforced by always present barn manager, Kristin. I highly recommend Academy Stables for your horse riding lessons, camps, and boarding needs.

Went for a two hour ride today and Billy our guide took great care of us! We will definitely be back for many more rides in the future! Thank you Billy! You made our ride today so memorable!

Our child has been with Academy for a year and a half (now 13yo) has enjoyed their summer camps as well as weekly/monthly lessons. They have a great learning program and ways to earn responsibility through experience. We are so grateful we have found Academy Stables.

My daughters both learned to ride there.Good flat work, historically. However, this is not a great place for long term. The trainer (Ashlee) and barn manger (Kristen) will not permit growth through gaining additional skills outside their stable. After the barn manager ‘discovered’ my daughter had tried a lesson with a different trainer nearer our home, my daughter was verbally shunned by both women during her most recent riding lesson (which became her last lesson). I also received an odd warning text from the barn manager to not consider other barns if we wanted to stay at Academy. We were shocked and saddened by the lack of maturity and respect for children both these women displayed. We can no longer encourage anyone to ride here.

Jenn Alber is the head trainer at Academy Stables. She is very professional and has brought a lot of experience to the barn. My daughter has progressed so much this past year; not only in her riding level but her knowledge of horsemanship. Jenn has also brought the showing aspect to the stables, which has been so exciting for the kids. I highly recommend this barn for all levels of riding from kids to adults. It’s a true family experience.
